Center for Romanian Studies
The Center for Romanian Studies is one of the few English-language publishers dedicated to Romanian and Eastern European history, literature, and culture. The catalog covers Romanian history from antiquity through the communist period, the 1989 revolution, and the country’s subsequent transition — including the only complete English translation of the collected poems of Mihai Eminescu, Romania’s national poet. It is the primary English-language source for the Habsburg era, the interwar years, the Second World War experience on the Eastern Front, and the Cold War decades under Ceauşescu. All titles are distributed by Simon & Schuster.
