Histria Books is pleased to announce the release of The Zooest Zoo: Animal Stars written by Tanya Volkova and illustrated by Iryna Garmash. This story is published by Histria Kids, an imprint of Histria Books dedicated to outstanding works for children that both educate and entertain.
The Zooest Zoo: Animal Stars by Tanya Volkova introduces young readers to familiar animals through questions that make even the most recognizable creatures seem strange again. Who drinks pink milk? Who sees with their paws? These are invitations to look closer, not a test of what children already know. With illustrations by Iryna Garmash and translation by Valeria Sedova, the book pairs accessible animal facts with insights from zoo staff, offering a glimpse of what visitors might otherwise miss. Its appeal starts with animals children already encounter in cartoons, films, and internet memes, then moves beyond recognition to discovery. A capybara may be familiar; its actual life is another matter.Â
For families with children aged five to eight, that shift gives the book a useful place beside a zoo outing or shared reading at home: something to spark conversation, challenge assumptions, and leave readers with more questions than they arrived with.
