Calvin H. Cherry was born in Marietta, Georgia, and raised in Georgia and rural Tennessee. A U.S. Navy veteran, he served in Sicily and aboard the USS Thorn during Operation Desert Storm, later retiring from the Navy Reserve as an Information Technician First Class Petty Officer. He holds a degree in Business Management from Kennesaw State University and works as a Life Claims Specialist for The Standard. An enthusiast of music, film, literature, hiking, and travel, Cherry lives in Macon, Georgia, with his spouse, Kevin Scott Bilbrey, and their cat, Francis.
