Diana Livesay

Diana is an accomplished translator with a deep passion for bringing literary masterpieces to new audiences. Specializing in Romanian and English, she has worked on some of the most significant works of Romanian literature.

Her translations include The Scintillating Life of Iulia Hasdeu by Constantin Manolache, a captivating biography of the late prodigy Iulia Hasdeu, for which Diana also translated Iulia’s romantic poetry. She has also brought to English-speaking readers Pirin Planina by George Topîrceanu, a harrowing yet humorously written memoir of World War I, and A Description of Moldavia by Dimitrie Cantemir, a cornerstone of Romanian historiography. Additionally, she has collaborated with Professor Dr. Ilie Rad of UBB Cluj on multiple translation projects.

With more translations in progress, including works by celebrated American authors, Diana is committed to preserving the essence of every text she works on.

In addition to her work as a translator, Diana is the Assistant Director at Histria Books, where she manages metadata, author relations, and distribution coordination with the Independent Publishers Group (IPG). Her background in investigative journalism and her passion for history and literature allow her to approach each translation with a deep understanding of both language and context.

Outside of work, Diana is a mother of two,  gamer,  metal lover,  serious Potterhead, and animal lover actively involved in animal rescue and rehabilitation.
