About This Book

The captain of the Nautilus is a man beset by legends, misunderstandings, and mystery. How much do we really know of this man, and how much more is there to know?

In this novel from J. Dharma Windham, dive into the enigmatic past of Captain Nemo — explorer, scientist, and adventurer. Learn how the events from his past shaped him, and how his journey came to change the world.

Captain Nemo: My Voyages is a work of steampunk-adjacent speculative fiction rooted in the tradition of Jules Verne's 19th-century adventure novels. Windham fills in the mysteries that Verne left to the imagination, giving the iconic figure a full interior life and a history that explains the obsessions he carries aboard the Nautilus. For readers of classic science fiction, steampunk adventure, and literary homage. Distributed through Simon & Schuster and available in paperback and digital formats.

About the Author → Full Profile

J. Dharma Windham is the author of historical fantasy and adventure novels including The Cleopatra Chronicles, Captain Nemo: My Voyages, Raise the Nautilus, and The Hadley Directive. He spent several years working on archaeological excavations in Egypt and traveled extensively throughout the Middle East, North Africa, and Central America studying ancient cultures, ruins, and historical sites. A lifelong sailor, he later captained his own boat to the Sea of Cortez and along the American West Coast. His fiction blends historical research, mythology, archaeology, and adventure with a strong sense of atmosphere and place. Deeply influenced by the ancient world and classic adventure literature, Windham writes stories filled with intrigue, exploration, danger, mystery, and larger-than-life characters. He lives in Southern California, where he continues to write and research new projects while sharing his home with his black cat, Hemlock.
