Histria Books is pleased to announce the release of Andrea Moda Formula: The Legend Of The Formula One Team Too Bad To Be True by Ian Strathcarron. This book is published by Histria Perspectives, an imprint dedicated to publishing outstanding works of nonfiction that illuminate history, culture, and society.

Andrea Moda Formula tells the extraordinary true story of the Italian shoe entrepreneur who tried to take his brand into Formula One in 1992. What followed was not simply a sporting fiasco, but a revealing collision between ambition, money, machinery and the increasingly controlled world of Grand Prix racing. Drawing on first-hand testimony from drivers, mechanics, engineers and the figures who ran the sport, this book looks beyond the easy punchlines to recover the people inside one of Formula One’s most notorious teams. It is funny, painful and unexpectedly humane, with vivid detail from a period when a tiny outfit could still attempt to face motorsport’s giants.

At a time when Formula One is more polished, expensive and carefully managed than ever, Andrea Moda’s brief, chaotic existence feels newly relevant. This is a sharp, entertaining account of what happens when confidence outruns preparation, and when the dream of belonging proves far more complicated than getting through the gate.

Ian Strathcarron is the author of more than a dozen books and Chair of Unicorn Publishing Group. He also founded Strathcarron Sports Cars, giving him rare first-hand insight into the ambition, improvisation and occasional chaos behind building a racing car. That experience informs his view of motorsport’s most unlikely ventures, prompting a question less about where things went wrong than how they could ever have gone right.

Lord Strathcarron is a former member of the UK House of Lords, Commodore of the House of Lords Yacht Club, and a keen racing motorcyclist.
