Histria Books is pleased to announce the release of eight novels in a new romance collection by Barbara Metzger. These books are published by Histria Romance, an imprint of Histria Books dedicated to outstanding books in the romance genre.
The new Barbara Metzger Romance Collection brings together eight novels that showcase the range, mischief, and emotional intelligence of one of romance’s most distinctive voices. From the contemporary, small-town reinvention of Love, Louisa to Regency England’s drawing rooms, country estates, and inconvenient scandals, these stories pair memorable heroines with complicated circumstances, sharp humor, and love interests who must earn their happy endings. Mystery, espionage, ghosts, magical touches, family obligations, and social risk all have a place here, but Metzger never loses sight of the human stakes.Â
The collection feels especially welcome now: it offers the pleasure of classic romantic escape while making room for women who are resourceful, bruised, funny, independent, and unwilling to be managed. Longtime readers will recognize Metzger’s lively dialogue and comic timing; new readers will find an inviting introduction to a writer whose romances are far more surprising than their elegant settings suggest.
Barbara Metzger is the award-winning author of more than three dozen Regency romances and a dozen novellas. Her acclaimed novels, set primarily in Regency-era England, have earned numerous honors, including the Romance Writers of America RITA, the National Readers’ Choice Award, the Madcap Award for humor in romance writing, and two Romantic Times Career Achievement Awards. A former editor, proofreader, greeting-card verse writer, and artist, Metzger also paints, gardens, volunteers at her local library, and enjoys beachcombing on Long Island.
