Eric J. Dorer grew up in New Jersey in the 1960s and 1970s before working factory jobs to finance a professional recording studio, where he composed original music and commercial soundtracks. He later attended law school in South Florida and built a trial-law career spanning more than two decades, deepening his respect for the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law. Married for more than three decades to his Colombian-born wife, Dorer has also built and navigated businesses in Florida, Puerto Rico, and North Carolina. In A Land for the Free, he draws on this varied life to reflect on the opportunities, responsibilities, and civic freedoms he believes future generations must preserve.
