Author

Ana Doina is a Romanian-born poet, essayist, and fiction writer whose work is deeply influenced by her experiences growing up under communism and later immigrating in search of freedom and belonging. Embracing the tradition of “writing as witness,” she explores history, memory, identity, and the human need for home through poetry, essays, and prose. Her work has appeared in numerous national and international publications, anthologies, and textbooks. A longtime advocate for literary communities, she has led poetry organizations, study groups, and workshops throughout New Jersey. Her honors include an Honorable Mention in the Anna Davidson Rosenberg Awards for Poems on the Jewish Experience and three Pushcart Prize nominations. She is the author of the chapbook The Later Generation and the poetry collection Legend of Bread.
